Wesley College is proud of its association with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III. The goal of the Department of Sports and Recreation at Wesley College is to provide a stimulating environment conducive to the athlete’s total development through a well rounded program of experiences – to produce people with physical prowess, moral integrity, and intellectual competency.
We believe the student-athlete has the right and responsibility to exhibit integrity in academics, in citizenship, and in athletic competition.
The Wesley Women’s Soccer Program takes great pride in our facilities. The soccer stadium features an artificial surface (Field Turf, newly resurfaced in 2015) and initial seating for 2,500. Check out the $20,000 team room expansion with new state-of-the-art wooden lockers, Apple TV technology, computer lab, projector with 100″ screen to view game film and more renovations coming Spring 2017. The Julia DeFelice Team Room brings the quality atmosphere of a Division I facility.
Each year the soccer program works with different local and state organizations to give our student athletes the opportunity to volunteer. During the past few years we have given back to groups like The Food Bank Of Delaware, Special Olympics of Delaware, Central Delaware Soccer Association and much more.
Over the past fifteen years the soccer programs have traveled abroad four times. The first three trips were made to England while the 2010 journey was to Scotland and England. In the Spring of 2016, the women’s soccer program traveled to Puerto Rico, this was a first time in program history. Travel tours has always given our players the opportunity to prepare and develop for an upcoming season plus learn about other cultures.
